Develop your leadership and strengthen your impact with DM10. A practical five-month leadership development programme designed exclusively for deputy managers in adult social care.

Whether you’re new to the role, building your leadership experience or aspiring to move into registered managers roles, DM10 gives you the space, tools and support to strengthen your leadership and apply your learning directly to everyday practice.

DM10 is designed and led by an expert facilitator with extensive experience in leadership and management development. The programme goes beyond theory, helping you turn leadership principles into practical approaches you can use in your service, team and day-to-day role.

Through interactive learning, reflection and peer discussion, you’ll explore real challenges and opportunities from social care settings – and learn how to respond with greater confidence and effectiveness.

You’ll be encouraged to reflect on your own experiences, learn from others and recognise the strengths you already bring to your role.

DM10 brings deputy managers together to learn, connect and grow.

You’ll become part of a supportive peer network where you can share experiences, explore challenges, exchange ideas and learn from people working in similar roles across social care.

Who is the programme for?

DM10 is exclusively for deputy managers working in social care, at any stage of their career.

It’s for deputy managers who want to:

  • build confidence and resilience
  • understand themselves and their leadership style
  • develop their teams and workplace culture
  • lead change more effectively
  • improve the quality of their management practice
  • prepare for the next stage of their leadership journey.

What will you gain?

  • Greater self-awareness: Understand your leadership strengths, behaviours and areas for development, enabling you to lead yourself and others more effectively.

  • A culture of learning and development: Create an environment where people feel supported to learn, reflect, improve and grow.

  • Confidence to lead change: Develop the skills and mindset to navigate change and drive positive outcomes for people and teams.

  • A people-first approach: Strengthen collaboration, communication and relationships to create a positive culture where people can thrive.

  • A strong peer network: Build meaningful connections with other deputy managers and learn from their experiences and perspectives.

  • Greater resilience and confidence: Develop the confidence to navigate challenges, make decisions and step into your leadership role with greater impact.

Delivery

The programme is deliberately structured to give you time between sessions to reflect, test new approaches and bring your experiences back to the group.

  • Small cohort: Maximum of 16 participants per programme to support meaningful discussion and connection

  • Mandatory attendance: To get the most from DM10, full participation in all sessions is required
